Here are a few famous ghazals by Mirza Ghalib and ALLAma Iqbal that are in the public domain:
Mirza Ghalib's Ghazal:
1. Hazaron Khwahishen Aisi
Translation:
Thousands of desires, each so strong that one could die for it,
Many of my wishes were fulfilled, yet they seemed too few.
2. Dil Hi To Hai Na Sang-o-Khisht
Translation:
The heart is not made of stone and brick,
Why shouldn’t it be filled with pain?
Allama Iqbal's Ghazal:
1. Khudi Ko Kar BulanD Itna
Translation:
Raise yourself to such heights that before every destiny,
God will ask, "What is it that you desire?"
2. Sitaron Se Aage Jahan Aur Bhi Hain
Translation:
Beyond the stars, there are worlds yet to be found,
It’s not just enough to rest; there are other realms too.
